Starting off in the industry in 1977 with a company called JKO Cutters Ltd, my first job in the woodworking industry was to recon a Holzher edge bander.
From that day on, I was smitten and have basically remained in the industry since then.
Later on in 1984 I joined the specialised panel machinery supplier "Jaydee Machines Sales" which ultimately became Homag UK in 2000, as by now the company were selling all of the Homag group products so made sense..
I then in 2006, I joined SCM UK and later on worked for both Biesse UK and Felder UK.
Having gained much experience in the woodworking industry especially in panel production and also having helped many customers from SMEs to large PLC companies, I decided to started “Paul Wood Machines” in 2017, initially acting initially as an agent for a well-known used machinery dealer.
As things started to progress, I found myself selling more of my own pre-owned machines which has been very successful, offering machines directly from customers to buyers, and working with both the seller and the buyer to achieve the best solution, both in budgets and specifications.
Why buy reconditioned or pre-owned machinery, there are many reasons but here is a few.
1. To produce the original machine it took took both energy and materials to produce. So if it can be recycled it will help with the environment and help save
our planet and our preciouses resources
2. You may be starting up and looking to keep costs down
3. With long delivery times for new machines you may need something quick and a recon or pre-owned machine could offer a solution
4. You may want another machine like you already have so parts and servicing are easy to look after
Yes, it is nice to be able to buy a new machine with the latest technology, but if that is something that is not needed why not consider a pre-owned machine whether brought as it is, or reconditioned we at Paul Wood Machines can help you find a solution.
